Iran’s foreign minister has warned that “Tel Aviv faces a tough countdown” after a senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed on Monday in an Israeli airstrike in the Syrian capital of Damascus, The Times of Israel reports.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that Mousavi had fought alongside Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the elite Quds Force, who was killed in Iraq by the US in 2020.
