IT Minister Umar Saif has stated that shutting down social media platforms is not the solution. His comments come as services of social media platform X remain disrupted in the country since Feb 17.

Speaking to Geo News, he said, “We should not shut down a platform. This is not the solution. This is a knee-jerk reaction. The solution is that we introduce a standard code or a code of ethics.”

He said that Pakistan could not afford to “isolate” from the world.
