Gaza rescuers have said that Israeli strikes and shelling today have killed 82 people in the war-battered Palestinian territory, updating a previous toll, AFP reports.

“The number of martyrs from Israeli airstrikes on Gaza has risen to 82 after the occupation targeted several homes in northern Gaza,” civil defence spokesman Mohammad al-Mughayir told AFP, after the agency earlier reported 50 dead.
