The UN refugee agency has said that up to 3.2 million people have been displaced inside Iran since the conflict began on February 28, Reuters reports.

“This figure is likely to continue rising as hostilities persist, marking a worrying escalation in humanitarian needs,” UNHCR said in a statement, citing preliminary assessments based on the number of uprooted households.

“Families have been forced to flee their homes at a moment’s notice as the crisis unfolds,” UNHCR said on X.
