US will not allow Strait of Hormuz shipping to be contested, says Hegseth

The United States will not allow shipping in the Strait of Hormuz to be contested by Iran, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said in a briefing, Reuters reports.

During the briefing, he also said that the US has a range of options to deal with nuclear weapons, including Iran deciding to give them up.
