Bahrain faces renewed aerial attacks from Iran, its military says, as Tehran and Washington exchange strikes in a battle for control of the vital Strait of Hormuz, AFP reports.

Bahrain says its air defences have dealt with a previous round of Iranian attacks, with warning sirens sounding in the capital, Manama.

Iran says it targeted US military installations at Sheikh Isa Airbase in Bahrain.
