Rubio highlights Strait of Hormuz security in call with UAE official

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has spoken with UAE National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss key regional security issues, State Department Spokesperson Tommy Pigott says according to Anadolu.

During the call, Rubio underscored the importance of freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, the statement said.

The two officials also addressed the situation in Lebanon and discussed ongoing joint efforts to hold Iran and its proxy groups accountable for continued attacks.
