Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has accused the US of wanting to “plunder the countries of the region”, Al Jazeera reports citing a report by Iran’s Fars news agency.
“America has approached the countries of the Persian Gulf and the region to plunder and plunder their resources,” he said during his meeting with the Iraqi president in Baghdad, Fars reports, quoting Ghalibaf.
“Iran and Iraq and their great nation have realised that the biggest problem and the main cause of all the problems in the region is America. The Americans were defeated in the third imposed war, in military and political dimensions,” he adds.
