A classroom brief becomes a professional runway at IMA 2026
For the students of the School of Art & Design, Superior University, IMA 2026 offered more than an opportunity to display their work. Through a unique collaboration with McDonald’s Pakistan, they were challenged to explore how the identity of an iconic international brand could be translated into an original fashion narrative.
Working with McDonald’s recognisable colours, symbols and cultural relevance, the students developed collections that balanced brand familiarity with individual expression. Every interpretation brought something different to the runway, from bold graphic treatments and experimental forms to subtle references inspired by the brand’s products and personality. The project encouraged students to think like professional designers: understanding a brand, responding to a brief and creating work that remained both relevant and original.

McDonald’s Pakistan’s involvement reflects a wider vision of creating meaningful opportunities for young people through creative partnerships. By giving students access to a professional platform and an authentic industry experience, the initiative helped bridge the gap between academic learning and commercial practice, showing what can happen when established brands invest in the ideas of the next generation.
