GUJRAT: The city witnessed yet another worst urban flooding as six hours downpour submerged streets.
Citizens were forced to remain indoors as commercial and routine activities were badly affected.
According to the Water and Sanitation Agency of Gujrat, the city received 176mm rain between 3 to 9 am.
Rural areas in city outskirts as well as Kharian and Sara-i-Alamgir too faced an adverse situation due to the heavy rain.
Even the main GT Road between Kharian and Lalamusa was looking like a lake at several places, particularly at Theekrian Morr, Panjan Kassana.
The Loraiy Chowk in the city outskirts remained blocked for hours as inflow was diverted to the Halsey storm water channel to protect the city from water coming through hill torrents.
Bhimbher Road, Rehman Shaheed Road, Jinnah Road, Ghareebpura Road, Court Road, Jail Road, Jalalpur Jattan Road, Circular Road and adjoining localities were among the worst-hit areas.
The District Courts Complex and the compound of district administration too were no-go areas for the people.
A number of motorists were trapped in flooded streets. Rescue 122 staff and local volunteers rescued them and gave them clean drinking water.
Gujrat Deputy Commissioner Nurulain Qureshi and WASA Managing Director Kashan Hafeez Butt visited various disposal stations and flooded areas.
Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yaseen and Secretary Housing Noorul Ameen Mengal also visited Gujrat city.
NAROWAL: Crop over hundreds of acres of agricultural land were inundated due to flash floods and heavy rains.
Rainwater entered homes, shops, animal shelters of citizens and communication roads were damaged.
Heavy rain was reported in occupied Kashmir, Shakargarh, Zafarwal, Narowal, Sialkot and Sambrial. Swollen drain Bayn originating from occupied Kashmir caused widespread damage in urban and rural areas. Due to high level of flooding in the rainwater drain, the road connecting Norkot with Kot Naina was closed.

The Green Bus Service and other transport running between Narowal and Shakargarh faced severe difficulties.
In Narowal, 112 mm of rain was recorded in Narowal. Two to three feet of water accumulated in government offices, roads and streets. Due to the heavy rains in Sialkot, two to three feet of water accumulated in roads and streets. 66 mm to 178 mm of rain was recorded in different areas of Sialkot city.
LAHORE: According to PDMA Punjab, monsoon rains were recorded in most districts of Punjab in the last 24 hours. Jhelum received 125 mm of rain, Attock 118 mm, Mangla 105 mm, while Mandi Bahauddin 48 mm, Murree 14 mm and Gujranwala 10 mm.
PDMA spokesperson said there is low-level flood at Head Marala in the Chenab River, while there is also low-level flood situation at Kalabagh, Chashma and Taunsa in the Indus River. According to the report, the water level in Tarbela Dam is 100 percent, in Mangla Dam 71 percent, in Aker Pong Dam 54 percent, in Thane Dam 51 percent, while the water level in Bhakra Dam is 48 percent.
