Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says his country and Iraq will “stand against global arrogance and continue their path of resistance”, state news agency IRNA reports.

He is quoted as saying that the unity of the Muslim community in Iran and Iraq is “unbreakable”, and that Iranian and Iraqi fighters “stood together at critical junctures” such as in the fight against Islamic State.

Ghalibaf adds that Baghdad stood beside Tehran during the US-Israeli war, and that resistance against Israel is “more alive and active today than ever”.
