Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has said that the visit undertaken by Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is taking place as bilateral ties between Islamabad and Tehran “reach one of their strongest stages”, state broadcaster IRIB reports.

Baqaei adds that the Pakistani delegation’s visit is unrelated to the visit of Oman’s foreign minister, who is expected to arrive today. He notes that “both visits will address regional security issues”.
