Anwar Gargash, an adviser to the UAE’s president, says Iran’s attacks on the Gulf states have weakened its position, suggesting that Tehran should work with its neighbours to end the conflict, Al Jazeera reports.
“With the US-Iran confrontation moving into a new phase characterised by escalating economic pressure, the end of attempts to dominate the Strait of Hormuz, and the surpassing of the memorandum of understanding stage, we reaffirm that Iran’s aggression against the Arab Gulf states missed its target; it has only deepened Tehran’s predicament and proven to be a gravely misguided strategic choice that has increased its isolation and weakened its position,” Gargash says on X.
“The path out of this war does not lie through targeting the Arab Gulf states, but rather through working with them to pave the way for de-escalation and the pursuit of a political exit from the conflict.”
