Iran’s supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei calls on Muslim countries in the region to unite against the United States and Israel in a written message issued six months on from the start of the Middle East war, AFP reports.

“The solution to the problems of the Islamic nations is unity of words, friendship, and cooperation on the path of goodness,” he said, according to his official website.

The statement also says the “enemy” seeks to create divisions within Muslims globally, according to Al Jazeera, and urges against any action that could divide Muslims.

Referring to the US and Israel, it adds: “They strive to turn various racial, cultural, social, economic, political, and geographical differences into pretexts for creating discord among Muslim people in Iran and in any other Islamic country”.
