The commander of Iran’s air defence forces has claimed that 200 enemy aircraft have been shot down by indigenously developed air defence systems during the US-Israeli war, according to state broadcaster Press TV.

Brigadier General Alireza Elhami adds that the country has been developing and deploying indigenous air defence systems tailored to Tehran’s operational requirements, adding that in some cases, enemy forces were unaware of which systems had engaged their aircraft.

Meanwhile, the army’s coordinating deputy commander Brigadier General Mohammad Sadeghian says that air defence systems have been deployed at 3,800 locations across Iran.
