Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says the country is on a “fundamental path against arrogance”, according to the ISNA news agency.

In a meeting with Hamas officials, Ghalibaf says, “Today, even the governments that love America in the region admit that this country is causing insecurity.”

He adds that negotiation is “a tool for struggle”, and that if Iran “[stops] fighting the United States and the Zionist regime (Israel) in its various forms, that day will be the day of defeat”.

Ghalibaf adds that the US must fulfil its obligations under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding “so that we can take action to open the Strait of Hormuz”.
