Qatar has condemned an Iranian attack on a Saudi tanker transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which led to the deaths of two crew members, Al Jazeera reports.

Doha’s foreign ministry “renews the State of Qatar’s categorical rejection of the use of the Strait of Hormuz as a bargaining chip, and in this regard, calls for its reopening without conditions”, emphasising the need to halt Iran’s “unjustified attacks on the properties of brotherly countries” and affirming its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
