US President Donald Trump has suggested the Iranian people may rise up against their leaders since the government in Tehran is “getting weaker and weaker”.

“I understand their plight; they’re being shot,” Trump tells reporters in the Oval Office when asked if the Iranian people would rise up against their leaders.

“The regime is getting weaker and weaker by the day, and at some point they’re not going to be able to shoot so easily, because people aren’t going to take it,” he adds.
