Lebanon has raised the toll in overnight Israeli strikes on the country’s south and east to four killed, with Israel claiming it was responding to an attempted Hezbollah attack, AFP reports.

Lebanon’s health ministry reports that four people have been killed, including an 18-year-old woman, and 32 others have been wounded, including several women and children, in Israeli strikes on several locations on Friday, particularly in the Nabatieh region.

An Israeli army statement claims its forces struck Hezbollah “terrorists and infrastructure”, including “weapon storage facilities”.
