A senior official in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that if the US keeps engaging in “miscalculations and continued aggression”, it should be prepared for further “pride-inspiring and unique” Iranian surprises, according to state broadcaster Press TV.

Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif, a former IRGC spokesman and current adviser to its commander-in-chief, emphasises, “The entire region is under the precise, comprehensive and moment-to-moment intelligence surveillance of the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

He adds that Iran’s control of the Strait of Hormuz is a “strategic and deterrent weapon”, saying it has not only changed the balance on the ground but also become a warning to Tehran’s enemies.

“If the enemy insists on continuing its aggression and its miscalculations, it should prepare itself to witness further pride-inspiring and unique Iranian surprises that will once again reshape the region’s strategic equations in favour of the front of truth,” Sharif warns.

He adds that the US and Israel “must understand that in the face of the faith, wisdom and courage of the Islamic Republic’s forces, they have no way out but to surrender to the realities on the ground.”
