The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke to Turkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, with “bilateral relations and regional developments of mutual interest” coming under discussion.
“They reaffirmed their shared position on Palestine and support for the joint statement by the eight Arab-Islamic countries on the UK’s decision to ban imports from illegal Israeli settlements and restrict services linked to such settlements, as well as the joint statement on the two-state solution by the UK and other European countries,” it said.
“They also emphasized the importance of maintaining close consultations on regional matters including through the regional four framework with Saudi Arabia and Egypt,” the ministry added, adding that the two agreed to meet on the sidelines of the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly.
