The UK and Bahrain have called for an urgent and open meeting at the UN Security Council (UNSC) to discuss the situation in Yemen, Al Jazeera reports.

All 15 UNSC members are expected to speak, while the organisation’s special envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, is scheduled to brief the meeting by video. Yemen and Saudi Arabia have asked to address the Council.

No resolution is on the table for a vote.
