Iran warns IAEA moves will push countries to exit NPT

The UN nuclear watchdog’s “politicised and disruptive actions” will push countries to exit the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Reuters reports quoting a social media post by the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

Mohsen Rezaei has made his comments a day after the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) 35-nation board of governors passed a resolution reporting Iran to the UN Security Council for breaching its non-proliferation obligations.

“The anti-Iran resolution adopted by the Board of Governors is illegal, technically unfounded, entirely political and unacceptable, bearing the clear imprint of US and Zionist (Israeli) pressure,” he writes.
