US slaps new sanctions on networks pro-Iran groups in Middle East

The US government has announced new sanctions against firms and individuals that it claims are aiding Hezbollah and Iran-aligned groups in the Middle East, as it intensifies its campaign to isolate Iran economically, Reuters reports.

Today’s actions by Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has hit entities and individuals that support Kataib Hezbollah, an Iraqi paramilitary group reportedly linked to the IRGC, and Hezbollah, the department says in a statement.
