Iran’s ambassador and charge d’affaires to the UN said renewed accusations over Tehran’s nuclear program were “political” rather than technical, in a letter to the UN Security Council president, Al Jazeera reports.

Gholamhossein Darzi said Iran rejected accusations raised at a Security Council meeting on Thursday and argued that Resolution 2231 had expired in October 2025.

“The renewed accusations against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program are political in nature, not technical,” Darzi wrote.
