Iran's Araghchi takes jab at 'powerless and exposed' US Treasury chief

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has mocked US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, noting that the latter is “gleefully boasting about wanting to impoverish Iranians and collapse our economy”.

“Instead, he stands powerless and exposed as the world loses belief in the US financial system,” Araghchi writes on X. “Meltdown over [the] cost of funding US debt is only the beginning.”
