Iran’s High Council for Human Rights (HCHR) has strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s continued airstrikes and shelling of residential areas and crimes against the people of Lebanon, IRNA reports.

In a statement, the body described the attacks on Lebanon as a blatant violation of fundamental principles of human rights and international humanitarian law.

According to it, the continued attacks on civilians constitute an explicit violation of the right to life, the right to security, and human dignity, and contravene fundamental principles of international humanitarian law, including the principle of distinction between military and civilian targets and the principle of proportionality in armed conflict.
