DPM Dar, IAEA chief agree Islamabad MoU best course of action to defuse tensions: FO

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi, the Foreign Office said.

“They discussed the evolving regional situation and agreed that implementation of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding remained the best course of action to defuse tensions. Grossi offered technical support should the need arise,” it said.

Meanwhile, DPM Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s enduring commitment to advancing the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and to respecting international law and treaties.

He also highlighted the “crucial importance of the UN system in realising the global peace and development agenda”, the FO said.
