Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi has expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts in the US-Iran peace process during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, according to the Foreign Office (FO).

In a post on X, the FO writes, “Foreign Minister Motegi appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic and mediation efforts in support of regional peace and stability.

“Both sides expressed hope that all sides would return to dialogue and pursue implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. They also exchanged views on the implications of the situation for energy supplies, supply chains, and the global economy,” it adds.
