Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva says the Strait of Hormuz has become “a battleground” which should have remained a passage for global trade.

“Families around the world are paying for the rising price of fuel, fertilisers and food,” he emphasises during his address to the UN General Assembly.

“We all know that there will be no winners on the battlefield. Diplomacy is the only option,” Lula stresses.
