Top tweets: Is Hamza Ali Abbasi's decision to resign justified?

Yesterday actor Hamza Ali Abbasi announced, via his Facebook page, that he was going to give up his post as PTI's culture secretary because a movie he's appearing in doesn't conform to the general expectations we have of Pakistani culture.

Discussions about his motives, and of whether he was right to resign or not, dominated social media, with opinions ranging from exultant to bored.

These people didn't think Hamza's post-filming resignation made sense:

Some people felt what happens onscreen is best left onscreen:

Some people congratulated him:

Some people believe he might do it again:

Some people took news of his resignation with a pinch of salt:

Some people supported Hamza's decision, saying it was the right thing to do:

This is now very old stunt to get the movies popularised. Hamza has just done that so that his movie can get extra ordinary coverage

He has done the right thing. Although he shouldn't have done the movie in the first place, now the best thing to do is resign from his political post.

C'mon Hamza, U r a talented actor, firstly U should do more films. Secondly we all know most of the films are meant to only entertain, so whatever comes on screen depends on the script. Please focus on movies

He wanted a out and this was a so called lame excuse. He is trying to run for MNA seat on PPP ticket. Secondly he blames it on friendship and doing scene which are against his principle. My question to him is what kind of company / friendship does he have that force him to do things out of his character. What kind of weak personality does he have.
