Unbeatable burger challenge

Kyle Barlow, owner of Madihah’s Takeaway in Workington, Cumbria, created a burger that has enough calories to feed an average person for two weeks.

A burger weighs a whopping two stone (more than 12kgs), contains more than 30,000 calories; has 24lb of beef in the patty alone — the equivalent of 56 normal-sized burgers.

It’s also topped with a mountain of cheese and comes with a side of fries and, of course, a bread bun.

Barlow said: “I am 100 percent certain that nobody will finish it, we have put 56 burgers together to make one giant beat of a meal.”

Kyle said: “We had multiple people trying and they were in shock when they saw it, because they underestimated the size.

Electric blue seagull!

A ‘tropical bird’ which was rescued, had people staring in awe until they discovered what species it actually was.

The bird was spotted hobbling around a car park in Carlisle, Cumbria, UK, by onlookers who thought they’d been fortunate enough to see a rare and tropical bird. But after inspection, the so-called rare species was noted to be a seagull dyed an electric blue colour.

Graham Carter, animal welfare officer, said: “We have similar situations before where gulls have got themselves into trouble after falling into containers of curry or oil. I wonder if some kind of blue powder has fallen on him and left him in this state. We would really like to hear from anyone who knows how this happened.”

Rare sea creatures wash up

Martyn Green and his family, from New Brighton, were on a weekend away near Caernarfon, in North Wales, when they came across what appeared to be a large piece of driftwood.

Attached to the log were thousands of tentacled creatures in shells, unlike anything they had seen before.

They soon realised the astonishing creatures were goosenecked barnacles, a rare specimen considered a delicacy, particularly in Portugal and Spain where they are known as percebes.

“From looking on Google, I think it’s about £25 each they go for, and on the log there were probably about 2,000 of them.”

Martyn, who runs a marketing agency, said he did not want to reveal the exact location of the otherworldly sight to avoid opportunists flocking to the scene and destroying it.

**Man wears live snake as a mask **

The photos, snapped aboard a Manchester bus recently, show a man sitting aboard the vehicle with a live snake wrapped around his neck and mouth.

A witness told the man initially appeared to be wearing “a really funky mask” until the snake started to move around.

“It was definitely entertaining,” she said.

The photos show the man was not wearing a face mask underneath the snake. Passengers are required to wear face masks on city buses to protect from the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This needn’t be a surgical mask ... passengers can make their own or wear something suitable, such as a scarf or bandanna,” the representative told.
