Things you need:

  1. Chenille strings; four for one tulip, two for leaves and one for stem (I chose pink colour for tulip and green for leaves and stem).

  2. Scissors.

  3. Small empty plastic bottle (optional).

  4. Artificial grass, hay and stones (optional).

Directions

  1. Start by folding the green chenille string in half and then twist it firmly. Set it aside, as shown in pictures 2 and 3.

  2. Take the pink chenille string and fold it in three parts, then cut along the folds as shown in pictures 4 and 5.

  3. Repeat the same step with the remaining three pink strings, as shown in picture 6.

  4. Now fold all these pink chenille pieces of string in half, representing the petals of the tulip. Remember to keep one piece aside for the final step, as shown in picture 7.

  5. Take the green stem and place the cut ends of the pink strings on top, one by one. Make sure the folded side is facing downward while maintain a firm grip, as shown in pictures 8 and 9.

  6. To secure the pink chenille pieces, take the remaining piece and wrap it around the top of the cut ends of the strings that you are holding firmly. This will help secure the petals in place, picture 10.

  7. Now, gently pull the petals upward while pressing them to flatten their shape. This will give them a more realistic look, as shown in pictures 11 and 12.

  8. To create the leaves, take the green chenille string and form it into a circle. Press the ends together to shape it like a leaf, as demonstrated in pictures 13, 14, and 15

  9. Secure the end of the leaf with the tulip, picture 16.

  10. Our tulip is ready, but to showcase it perfectly, let’s make a vase. Keep in mind that making the vase is completely optional.

  11. For the vase, I used an empty juice bottle since it had the perfect shape. Inside the bottle, I added small stones, dry hay and artificial grass. Finally, I inserted the tulips.

Isn’t it an amazing addition to your side table?
