The United Nations’ agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has said that almost 90 per cent of the Gaza strip’s population has been displaced and “lacks everything”.

In a post on X, the UNRWA highlighted there was a “high risk of communicable disease outbreaks” and “many cases of meningitis, skin rashes, chickenpox and other diseases recorded”.

It further said there were “alarming rates of respiratory infections and diarrhoea in children under five” years old.
