US President Donald Trump has lashed out at a reporter who asked him a critical question about US objectives in Iran, calling him a “fake guy” whose writing is tantamount to “treason”, according to Al Jazeera.

Trump emphasises the US achieved a “total military victory” in Iran and that this is recognised by everyone “except by people like you who don’t write the truth”.

“I actually think it’s sort of treason when you write,” Trump says. “Your editors tell you what to write and you write it. You should be ashamed of yourself.”
