Qatar says the invitation to Tehran is open to review details about search and rescue operations for three missing Iranian pilots, who were reportedly captured by Doha after being shot down earlier this year.

In a statement from the foreign ministry, Doha expressed surprise at the claims made by Iranian media, calling them with spokesperson Dr Majed Al-Ansari deeming them “entirely devoid of truth” and affirming that Qatar took all required measures in keeping with international and humanitarian obligations.

“The invitation remains open for Iran to send a technical team to review all details of the search and rescue operations related to its pilots,” the statement reads, noting that this invitation had previously been formally extended to Tehran, but it had not responded.
