Lebanese President Joseph Aoun says the government is seeking to “end the current situation” in the country’s south and will continue working to rebuild the state, according to Al Jazeera.

Addressing the board of the National Council for Scientific Research, Aoun says, “The biggest challenge is reconstruction after Israel withdraws from the occupied towns and villages and the Lebanese army deploys up to the border.”
