Traffic in Bab al-Mandeb strait rises as transits through Hormuz contract: monitor

Shipping monitor MarineTraffic’s data shows that in the past 24 hours, traffic in the Bab al-Mandeb strait in the Red Sea sharply rose, while traffic in the Strait of Hormuz remained minimal, with only 10 crossings.

“At Bab el-Mandeb, confirmed crossings increased 53 per cent to 46, with 30 vessels entering the Red Sea and 16 exiting. No dark transits were recorded at Bab el-Mandeb,” the monitor adds in a post on X.
