China slams Trump’s talk of economic warfare against Iran

China has pushed back against US President Donald Trump’s threat of an “economic warfare” campaign against Iran, stating that more sanctions will not solve the outstanding issues, Al Jazeera reports.

“Imposing sanctions and pressuring do not help to solve the issue,” China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian tells reporters in Beijing. “China calls on relevant parties to take responsible measures and solve the issues through diplomatic and political means.”
