Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir has met with Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf during his visit to Tehran, Iranian state broadcaster Press TV reports.

According to the broadcaster, Ghalibaf has reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to upholding the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, while slamming the US for failing to honour its commitments, noting that this attitude “hindered regional stability and further eroded trust in Washington”.

Field Marshal Munir says Pakistan will continue its efforts to help restore stability in the region, Press TV adds.
