Euro zone government bond yields hold steady as oil prices dipped, with traders weighing the impact of the latest US sanctions against Iran, Reuters reports.
Germany’s 10-year bond yield, the benchmark for the bloc, was roughly flat at 3.242 per cent, remaining near the 15-year high of 3.275pc touched last week.
Yields move inversely to prices.
Yields, particularly those on longer-dated bonds, hit their highest in a decade or more around the world last week as investors worried about inflation stemming from the US-Israeli war with Iran and high levels of government spending.
The German 30-year yield was little changed at 3.745pc, down slightly from last week’s 15-year high of 3.787pc.
French 30-year bond yields were flat at 4.894pc, but remained close to the 18-year high of 4.923pc touched on Monday.
