ABBOTTABAD: A five-year-old nursery girl student was allegedly sexually assaulted at a private school in Namli Mira area here, the police said on Thursday.

The girl’s mother, a resident of Mira Kalan, told police that her five-year-old daughter was a nursery student at a private school. She said that she noticed blood stains on her daughter’s trousers when she returned home from school on Tuesday.

The child also complained of pain in her sensitive area, she added.

The mother said that upon questioning the child, she told her that a boy from the school had taken her to a bathroom, where the alleged incident occurred.

The case was registered under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 53 of the relevant child protection law. The girl was referred to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical examination. After the school reopened following the day, the police reached the school along with the child’s family and initiated an identification process.

However, the police said the child did not identify any individual.

According to police, three persons were detained on suspicion raised by the girl’s parents, while the child was referred to a specialist gynecologist for further examination and a final medical opinion.

The investigation was under way and forensic and other legal aspects were being examined, the police said.
