Israel will strike Iran again if it tries to rebuild its nuclear or ballistic missile programmes, even if Tehran reaches an agreement with Washington, Israel’s energy minister says according to Al Jazeera.
Eli Cohen was asked about the war on Iran in an interview with the Israeli news site Ynet on Saturday.
“If Iran makes the mistake and tries to renew its nuclear programme or ballistic missile programme, even if there is an agreement with the United States, we will be there to attack,” he said.
Cohen said Iran would have obtained nuclear weapons had Israel not attacked, and that Israeli intelligence assessed that the joint US-Israeli strikes had set the programme back by between two and four years.
“We have already proven our capabilities,” he said.
