Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei says the US does not know how to extricate itself from the war it started, according to Al Jazeera.

“It has become clear they are now stuck in the massive error they’ve made, and it’s their usual habit to raise excessive demands,” he is quoted as saying.

“In each occasion they fall into a state of miscalculation. We cannot accept any orders being dictated upon us. If they continue with this philosophy, they will not get any different result.”

Baghaei also says that economic sanctions by the United States are affecting various aspects of life in Iran, and that mediation efforts by Pakistan and other countries are continuing.
