US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says that Washington will “sever every tie” Tehran has with other countries, as part of its economic pressure campaign.

In an interview on Fox News, he urges people to “stay away”, noting that the fastest way to end the war is if nobody supports Iran.

“We are going to sever every tie that they (Iran) have from the outside world,” Bessent says, giving the example of US economic action against an Egyptian bank’s branches in Dubai.

“We have created new authorities for Treasury to sanction airlines, maritime, digital assets, so this is all hands on deck,” he adds, noting that teams from the Treasury and State Department are having “fullsome talks” with any actor supporting Tehran.
