Iranian Navy commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani has said that the US is “deeply concerned about Iran’s operational initiatives” and warns that Tehran’s military can “ground” Washington’s forces wherever necessary, state news agency IRNA reports.
Irani stresses the need for the country’s armed forces to remain ready for the “Khorramshahrs ahead”, recalling the defence of Khorramshahr during the Iran-Iraq War and referring to possible future battles.
“Our main mission is to prevent the enemy from achieving its goals and objectives, and with God’s help, we will succeed in this path, because the enemy’s movements are monitored moment by moment,” he adds.
