NGO calls for end to Israeli attacks on Lebanon

The Norwegian Refugee Council has demanded an immediate end to Israeli bombardment and urges all “parties to fully comply with international law”, according to Al Jazeera.

“For many families in southern Lebanon, returning home is still far from possible,” says Maureen Philippon, the group’s country director in Lebanon. “After months of repeated displacement and destruction, families should not have to keep wondering where they will be safe.”

Highlighting the Israel-Lebanon framework deal, Philippon adds, “diplomatic agreements cannot be measured only by a reduction in attacks” and “must translate into real safety, protection, and the possibility for families to return home without fear”.
