Arab League chief says conflict in Gulf cannot be solved by military intervention

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy has said that the conflict in the Gulf region cannot be solved by military intervention and warned that “the crisis is poised to continue,” Al Jazeera reports.

Fahmy said he believed Arab countries needed to “establish clear foundations” in their relationships with Iran going forward. He also said Tehran “must change its policies”, describing Iran’s role towards some Arab states as “extremely negative”
