Oman’s Maritime Security Centre says in a statement that 23 crew members have been rescued from an oil tanker that was hit earlier in the day.
It adds that in coordination with the relevant authorities, the Panama-flagged oil tanker is being towed to a port in Oman.
“A Royal Navy of Oman vessel evacuated 23 crew members and provided them with necessary medical care in coordination with competent health authorities, while search operations continue for two crew members who remain missing,” the statement reads.
