Fatima, Noor to carry Pakistan flag at Asiad

LAHORE: Pakistan’s women cricket team captain Fatima Sana and squash player Noor Zaman were appointed on Wednesday as the country’s flag bearers during the opening ceremony of the Asian Games starting in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan on Saturday.

“The opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games will be held on Sept 19, 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, officially marking the commencement of the Games. The President of the Pakistan Olympic Association, Arif Saeed, is pleased to nominate squash athlete Noor Zaman and Fatima Sana, captain of national women’s cricket team, as Pakistan’s flag bearers for the opening ceremony,” the POA announced on Wednesday.

A 243-strong contingent is set to represent Pakistan at the Asian gala.
